Explores visual expression on a two-dimensional surface. Uses oil, acrylic or watercolor paints for spatial development of color, shape and surface. Drawing and design experience recommended.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Complete 3 or 4 color paintings using a painting medium. Dispose of painting by-products using environmentally safe studio procedures. Criticize class work exercising judgement during open discussions. Apply vocabulary concepts in written and oral critiques of artistic works.
