WW6. 198 Intro To PLCs & Industrial Control Systems
Provides an introduction to the instrumentation processes used to monitor and control contemporary water and wastewater treatment facilities. Measurement of temperature, pressure, liquid level and flow, and the transmission and control of these parameters will be discussed. Required: WW 6.156 Industrial Electricity.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Convert basic electrical control diagrams into their equivalent PLC (programmed) version. Use computer programming software to develop and edit simple PLC programs based on a verbal and/or written problem description. Download (transfer) and execute (run) a PLC program after programming. Properly connect (wire) electrical components to a PLC including input devices such as switches & sensors and output devices such as lamps & solenoids. Successfully troubleshoot faulty electrical circuits and / or components connected (wired) to a PLC.
