Construction and Forestry Equipment Technology
The Construction and Forestry Technology Program is a two-year program leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree. The program develops the technical competency and professional attributes of students to prepare graduates for high-paying and rewarding jobs as John Deere construction and forestry equipment technicians.
The program begins fall quarter of each year. The total program is designed to be completed in six quarters. Each specialized subject is studied in the classroom and laboratory on campus. Cooperative Work Experience is also included in the curriculum. Students are selected to participate in the Construction and Forestry Equipment Technology program through an interview process with a John Deere Construction and Forestry Equipment sponsor dealership. Selected students will receive assistance with tuition and tools from the sponsor dealership.
The textbooks for the program cost approximately $650.00. The majority will be used all 6 terms of the program. $3,600 in fees deposited during the 6 terms accrue for a professional set of mechanic's hand tools which belong to the student at completion of the program. The official required tool set for Construction and Forestry Equipment students is the Snap-On 9200AGSO tool kit, 2007FPBO 7 drawer roll cabinet (red) and the EEDM525D meter. Under a Snap-on program this set is discounted at a rate only available to students.
Students are required to wear a uniform, and should budget approximately $100.00 for apparel.
