An introduction to the classification, structure, growth, life cycles, recognition, and control principles of selected weeds, insects, disease, and other pests of plants. The principles and applications of Integrated Pest Management are emphasized.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Identify major pests of agricultural and horticultural crops Determine appropriate pest prevention and integrated pest management techniques for major pests. Devise a basic pest management plan for a crop commonly grown in the Pacific Northwest.
