CIS 196 Web Development II
Introduces web design through an examination of HTML, CSS and relevant computer graphic file formats. Students will learn to create standards-compliant, accessible web pages using modern design techniques and technologies. Emphasis will be placed on learning to write HTML and CSS without the help of advanced web design software; writing accessible, standards compliant code; and separating content, presentation and action.

Prerequisite: CIS 195 Web Development I with a grade of C or better or instructor approval.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe and employ good development techniques and practices for developing maintainable and accessible web pages. Describe HTML5 primitives. Demonstrate an understanding of DOM (Document Object Model) nodes, their properties, and the hierarchical relationship between them. Develop dynamic pages via the programmatic manipulation of DOM. Use logic-less template libraries.
