HV3. 296 Steering, Suspension & Brakes
Covers the theory and operation of heavy duty steering and suspension systems, automotive alignment, and braking systems. Diagnosis and service techniques are taught with the use of components and vehicles. Learning strategies include mulit-media presentations, discussion research and lab practice.
Prerequisite
Prerequisite: Placement into
WR 095 College Writing Fundamentals or higher, placement into
MTH 075 Variables and Linear Equations or higher, and
HV3. 297 Basic Hydraulics or
CT3. 297 Basic Hydraulics with a grade of C or better.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate safe lifting/cribbing procedures while repairing truck and heavy equipment suspension systems. Maintain truck/equipment steering, brakes and suspension systems. Troubleshoot truck/equipment steering, brakes and suspension systems. Repair truck/equipment steering, brakes and suspension systems.
