CJ 201 Juvenile Delinquency
Explores delinquency in American society. A study of youth criminality provides students with an understanding of the social and institutional context of delinquency. Students work cooperatively as team members to teach others in the class about a research topic related to a juvenile delinquency issue.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Identify the leading theories explaining juvenile delinquency. Explain the historical context out of which grew the concept of a separate justice systemfor juveniles. Explain and distinguish the juvenile and adult criminal justice systems. Describe the major intervention strategies for dealing with delinquency. Describe the role of gender and race in the juvenile justice system.
