SPN 203 Second Year Spanish III

Prepares students to use Spanish in more academic settings and use the language for critical and analytical purposes. Acquaints students with more complex grammar structures, and with Hispanic cultures through authentic materials. Conducted in Spanish. Required: SPN 202 Second Year Spanish II with a grade of C or better, or instructor approval. Native speakers are required to have instructor approval.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate an ability to use hypothetical language and subjunctive to discuss possibilities and consequences in past, present and future contexts. Demonstrate an intermediate ability to use four new tenses of the indicative and subjunctive in context effectively. Research and explain in Spanish a cultural aspect of Spanish speaking countries not previously explored in SPN 201 and 202 courses. Communicate information produced in Spanish at the intermediate high level (as per ACTFL proficiency guidelines).
