HVE 126 Steering, Suspension, and Brakes
Introduces the theory and application of pneumatic braking systems. Covers service, diagnose, and repair of ABS (anti-lock breaking systems), and foundation, accessory, and safety of air systems. Also includes the theory and operation of heavy duty steering and suspension systems, automotive alignment, and braking systems. Covers diagnosis and service techniques, with the use of components and vehicles. Includes multi-media presentations, discussion research, and lab practice.

Placement into
WR 095 or higher and placement into
MTH 075 or higher.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Maintain pneumatic brake compressors valves and control systems. Troubleshoot pneumatic brake compressors valves and control systems. Demonstrate safe lifting/cribbing procedures while repairing truck and heavy equipment suspension systems. Troubleshoot truck/equipment steering, brakes and suspension systems. Repair truck/equipment steering, brakes and suspension systems.
