MA3. 453 Advanced CNC Technology III

Provides training and learning experiences in Computer Numeric Control (CNC) technology. Includes training on safe CNC operation skills that are applicable to a number of different CNC machines and controls. Focuses on safe setup and operator skills in a multi-spindle, mill-turn CNC environment.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate proper fixturing as related to turning centers. Follow setup sheet to prepare a multi-spindle turning center for operation. Set WCS (Work Coordinate System) offsets for multiple operations. Set tooling offsets manually and with an in-machine tool setter. Identify G&M codes specific to a multi axis, multi-spindle turning center. Set up milling tooling in a turning environment.
