ANS 221 Equine Conformation and Performance
Teaches students practical skills in four specific areas of horse science: anatomy, foot and leg care, fitting and showing, and horse conformation judging and assessing conformation for performance. Recognizing common unsoundnesses and blemishes also is covered.

Diagram equine skeletal and muscular anatomy. Differentiate and judge breed type and analyze equine conformation within breed type. Infer athletic ability as a result of structural conformation. Gain exposure to diverse equine industries.
