Provides hands-on skill development of the gas tungsten-arc welding (GTAW) process, with in-depth practice on either ferrous or non-ferrous materials. Introduces the use of a welding chamber.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Set up and operate welding machines used for the GTAW process on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Perform welding in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions as applicable to the welding process. Recognize and name key components of the GTAW welding equipment. Select the commonly used type(s) of filler metal for the various base metals being welded. Use applicable shop equipment safely.
