CRS 131 Medical Terminology and Body Systems I for Coding and Reimbursement
Introduces the appropriate medical terminology used to identify the structural organization of the body, identify body systems, and describe body orientation. Includes identification of the normal function of each body system, word parts, and abbreviations as they relate to body systems. This course is for students enrolled in the Coding and Reimbursement Program.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe the structural organization of the human body and identify body systems. Describe body planes, directional terms, quadrants, and cavities. Describe the normal functions of each body system and identify its major organs as well as their anatomical location. Identify medical terms, labeling the word parts and defining both medical terms and abbreviations related to all body systems. Identify and analyze treatment modalities, normal function, organization and diagnostic measures for the following body systems: Integumentary System, Skeletal system, Muscles and Joints, Nervous System, and Blood and Lymphatic Systems.
