MUS 271 Audio Engineering I
The first course in a three-course sequence. Develops the tools to work and function as a recording engineer in a live concert and studio recording environment. Includes studio and room acoustics, microphone selection and positioning, recording technology, tracking, audio editing, signal processing, recording process, workflow, and professionalism. Offered Fall term only.

MUS 173 with a grade of C or better
Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate ability to manage a rehearsal and studio process. Describe different microphone types and their uses. Demonstrate ability to edit audio.
