LBCC's Commitment to Military Connected Students

LBCC supports Spouses and Dependents of Veterans by certifying Chapter 35 (Survivors' and Dependents') through the VA.

LBCC complies with Oregon's ORS 350.285 waiver of tuition for familty members of deceased or disabled veterans or children of Purple Heart recipients. What this means:

• A Qualified Student is defined as a child, spouse, or an unremarried surviving spouse of a service member or a child of a Purple Heart recipient.
• Qualified Students must be considered a resident of Oregon. A child who applies for this waiver must be 23 years of age or younger.
• Tuition is waived only for courses that may lead to a degree.
• Waiver covers tuition charges but does not cover fees.
• The amount of the waiver may be reduced by the amount of federal aid scholarships or grants, awards from the Oregon Opportunity Grant program, or any other aid from LBCC.

Tuition Waiver Applications can be requested from the Veterans Benefits Office.
