FW 251 Prin of Wildlife Conservation

Introduces the relationships between the physical environment and wild animal populations. Examines the history of wildlife conservation and natural resource use, man's relationship to his natural environment, dynamics of animal populations, principles and practices of fisheries and wildlife management, and the role of wildlife biologists. MTH 065 Elementary Algebra and college-level reading and writing strongly recommended.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply the principles of scientific inquiry when considering questions related to wildlife management. Use appropriate scientific vocabulary in both oral and written communications. Understand ecological influences as they relate to wild animal population dynamics. Explain the development and evolution of attitudes and philosophies associated with the use of natural resources. Understand the factors associated with anthropomorphic extinction.
