HORT 280 Intro to Landscape Design
Students learn how to develop functional, aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible landscapes. Site assessment, basic design principles, plant selection and drafting skills will be emphasized. Introduction to computer-aided design (CAD), using color in landscape designs and rendering section/elevation views. Recommended: HORT 228 Landscape Plant Materials, HORT 255 Herbaceous Ornamentals.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Select and place plants according to a site physical and environmental conditions. Create aesthetic, functional and environmentally responsible landscapes. Outline the landscape design process. Apply landscape design principles. Demonstrate proficiency in CAD design.
