Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply organic chemistry principles and theories as they relate to the structure of organic compounds covered in CH 241 and CH 242. Identify the different types of organic chemistry reactions covered in CH 242 and illustrate the reaction mechanism. Predict the products, reactants, or reagents of organic chemistry reactions covered in CH 241 and CH 242. Design multi-step organic syntheses for reactions covered in CH 241 and CH 242. Analyze Infrared (IR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), and Mass Spectroscopy data as they relate to the structure of organic compounds. Perform organic chemistry experiments, analyze recorded data, and evaluate the data while working safely in a laboratory environment.
