Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Use language/verbal skills that enable patients' understanding. Recognize communication barriers. Advocate on behalf of the patient. Respond to nonverbal communication. Apply active listening skills. Use appropriate body language and other nonverbal skills in communicating with patients, families and staff. Demonstrate awareness of the territorial boundaries of the person when communicating.
