EG4. 471 Capstone Project
Provides the student an opportunity to apply all previously acquired knowledge in the design of a new or existing consumer product or project. Students will study the design processes with consideration given to the function, aesthetics, cost economics and marketability of the product or project. A research paper and product illustration is required in this course.
Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Design or redesign a consumer product integrating ethics in design. Develop and analyze new concepts. Analyze the function of a product. Select proper materials. Develop a cost estimate breakdown. Research marketability, needs assessment. Develop a production flow diagram. Make sketches and produce working drawings of a product. Design or redesign a consumer product from the information obtained from research. Write a report on product developed.
