Special Admission Programs
Some LBCC programs have stringent admission requirements, which were set to administer the college’s resources effectively and to ensure that each student has a reasonable chance of success. These programs include:
- Dental Assistant
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Medical Assistant
- Nursing
- Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Phlebotomy
- Surgical Technician
Special admission programs often require prerequisite courses or skills assessments. Placement scores used as assessment for special admission programs are valid for five years. For most programs, qualified in-district applicants receive priority in the selection process. (Note: The LBCC district does not include all of Linn and Benton counties.) Admission requirements and application materials for each program may be found on the applicable program's webpage.
Students admitted to the program must also meet additional departmental requirements which can be found in the application guide. Admitted students are financially responsible for immunizations, health screening, criminal background check, drug testing and certification fees.
