Community Education Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change. The following guidelines apply to all non-credit courses offered through Community Education.

1. General Refund Schedule

Refund eligibility is determined by the length of the specific course and when the request is submitted. To receive a 100% refund, you must meet the following deadlines:

Refund Deadline

  • Long-Term (6+ weeks) - Five calendar days after the first course meeting.
  • Short-Term Classes and Workshops (1-5 sessions) - 2 days prior to the first session meeting.

Note: No full or partial refunds will be issues once these deadlines have passed except in special circumstances.

2. Important Policy Details

  • Individual Start Dates: Because courses begin at various times, refund deadlines are calculated based on the individual course start date rather than the general college term start date.
  • One-Time Courses: Due to limited seating and supply costs, workshops require at least two business days' notice for a refund.
  • No-Shows: If you do not attend a registered course, you are not eligible for a refund or credit.
  • Special Circumstances: Requests involving medical issues or extenuating circumstances are reviewed on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Community Education staff.

3. Cancellations & Changes

  • College Cancellations: If a course is canceled by the college due to unforeseen circumstances or low enrollment, a 100% refund is issued automatically.
  • Instructor Changes: The college reserves the right to substitute instructors if necessary. A change in instructor does not create a new window for refund eligibility.
  • Course Disruption: In the event of instructor illness, inclement weather, or other course disruptions out of your control, we will do our best to reschedule courses if possible. Disruptions may not necessitate a refund.
