AU3. 300 Automatic Transmissions & Transaxles
In this class you add to the skills already taught in Electrical Systems & Engine Performance and Drive Train Service by learning to repair, replace and troubleshoot automatic transmission and transaxles. This course also includes 20 hours of advanced electrical troubleshooting techniques.
Prerequisite
Prerequisites:
AU3. 316 Drive Train Service and
AU3. 317 Electrical Systems & Engine Performance with a grade of "C" or better. Placement Test scores for
ALS 100 Applied Learning Strategies, and
WR 095 College Writing Fundamentals or higher and placement into
MTH 060 Introduction to Algebra. Corequisites: two credits of CWE. Recommended: valid driver's license, proof vehicle insurance, clean driving record as outlined at www.linnbenton.edu/auto/drive_record.html.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Be able to diagnose and repair components and systems related to Automatic Transmissions and Transaxles. Be able to diagnose and repair components and systems that affect the operations of automatic transmissions and transaxles. Be able to perform pressure tests and utilize essential tooling needed to test automatic transmissions and transaxles. Be able to replace bushing, bearings, and seals on automatic transmissions and transaxles. Verify proper operations of an transmission or transaxle.
