ED 282 Working with Child with Special Need
Overview of special education legislation and the role of family, school and community in educating and supporting individuals with disabilities. Class is tailored to meet the needs of students who enroll, with a focus on in-school special needs issues or community agency issues. Implementation of current legislation and its impact in the classroom are addressed.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Participate in the development of an individualized education plan while understanding key political, social, and legal ramifications of the education of individuals with disabilities. Work collaboratively with schools personnel, family, agencies, or multi-disciplinary teams to plan and implement student transitions. Utilize appropriate resources and language.
