HDFS 207 Introductory Internship
Field experience in a professional agency or organization. Observation and practice of professional behaviors. Application of helping strategies and skills to individuals and families. Supervision by agency and instructor. Requires 90 hours of work on-site.

Prerequisite: HDFS 107 Human Services Internship Orientation with a C or better.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe the mission, standards, and everyday operations of an agency or organization. Engage in introductory practical experience under supervision of a professional in the field. Demonstrate awareness of self as a future helping professional. Demonstrate helping skills such as empathy, rapport building, and active listening.
