BI 232 Human Anatomy & Physiology
The second term of an introduction to the structure and function of the human body. Benefits students in the health professions and physical education, but is valuable to others interested in the anatomy and physiology of the body. Focuses on the nervous system, endocrine system, and cardiovascular system. Includes a laboratory component.
NOTE: BI 231, BI 232, and BI 233 may not be combined in sequence with BI 231Z, BI 232Z, and BI 233Z. Students who start the sequence with BI 231 most continue with BI 232 and BI 233. Z and non-Z versions of the courses are not combinable.
Prerequisite
BI 231 Human Anatomy and Physiology with a grade of C or better.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of nervous, endocrine, and cardiovascular system structure and be able relate it to its function. Use appropriate terminology to effectively communicate information related to anatomy and physiology. Recognize the interrelationships between and within physiological systems. Recognize the principles of homeostasis in a physiological system. Evaluate case based scenarios effectively using knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
