Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Recognize how studying African literature fiction and poetry drawn from tribal, colonial, and post colonial writers helps us to understand the human condition. Interpret African literature through critical reading, writing, and discussion. Analyze narrative and poetic techniques and themes essential to African literature. Explain the importance of a certain period or development in African literature. Demonstrate how an appreciation for African literature enhances their personal awareness and creativity. Recognize when information is needed, and demonstrate the ability to locate, evaluate, synthesize and use information effectively, whether working with print or electronic media. Write and speak with confidently about their own and others ideas.
