AU3. 403 Advanced Vehicle Control Networking Diagnosis

Covers the history and evolution of the Controller Area Network (CAN) usage in vehicles and the current industry shift to faster communication technologies such as Flexray, Ethernet, Wireless (Wifi) and Bluetooth. Students will practice identifying various high speed networks, diagnosing failures, and performing repairs on modern vehicles.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate understanding of acronyms and definitions for the following components and systems: vehicle network systems, CAN Bus and electronic control systems. Troubleshoot automotive vehicle connectivity issues and network communication failures. Perform testing, analysis, and diagnostics of the following systems/components: advanced computerized engine control diagnostic modules, network cables, nodes, connectors and CAN Bus and electronic control systems and related components.
