Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Define motor behavior, motor control, motor learning, and motor development. Classify, compare, and contrast different types of motor skills and abilities. Identify the basic principles of the production and control of movement from a neuromuscular perspective. Apply principles of skill acquisition and effective practice to movement of learning and performance. Identify how motor behavior and movement skills change across the lifespan. Recognize biological, behavioral, and environmental factors that influence movement development and performance. Explain how motor behavior concepts relate to physical activity participation, fitness, and exercise-related careers.
