This course explores health literacy and media strategies for creating effective health communication for diverse audiences. Students apply behavior change and communication theories to translate health and scientific information into clear, actionable messages, while examining culturally specific adaptations to ensure relevance and impact across populations.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply basic principles of health communication to communicate public health information clearly in oral and written forms across common media and to varied audiences. Explain how health messages and public health campaigns are developed and delivered to influence knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Describe key concepts and strategies used in effective communication of health-related issues. Demonstrate the ability to communicate accurate and reliable health information to intended audiences and stakeholders. Summarize the roles of science and health communication in promoting health and addressing the needs of diverse populations.
