MTOL 112 CNC II: Lathe

Provides training in the operation and part programming of CNC Lathes. Students learn safe manufacturing methods by completing a series of assignments and skills tests on CNC Lathes. Students will gain experience reading, writing and editing part programs using industry standard G&M code programming. Required: Basic computer competency.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Set up and operate a CNC Lathe. Read, write and edit G&M code for 2 Axis turning. Understand the Lathe Coordinate Systems. Plan a logical order of operations and tool changes. Balance cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut for efficient machining.
