MTOL 192 Manual Machining II
Continues training and hands-on experience in basic manual machining. Students will machine functioning projects consisting of precision components made using mills and lathes. Instruction on cutting tool geometry, threading cutting, surface plate layout and machine setup are included in this course. Safety and skills for employment are emphasized.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate safe setup and operation of manual mills and lathes. Demonstrate knowledge of cutting tool speeds and feeds. Demonstrate proper use of measuring tools and inspection procedures. Perform precision layout at the surface plate. Demonstrate and apply metal cutting tool geometry and tool sharpening. Demonstrate knowledge of single point threading and inspection techniques.
